There. The post did what it was supposed to do. Truthfully speaking, I didn’t like the situation any more than you do. How was I supposed to tell you how we felt, without you incurring some other form of emotional injury? What you wrote in the team thread, was basically what I thought was appropriate, albeit weeks before. You can tell it has a profound effect on the team, because after Oreo’s and Lorenzo’s reply, we basically fell silent. It was that kind of uncomfortable scenario you know? Let you know and we’ll be damned. Don’t let you, and we’ll also be damned. Yes, I do see you as my younger sister, as I see the rest of the female team members. I didn’t know any other way to put it. You can think that you want to stay away from the team, or minimise interactions with us. I don’t really know about that, but I do know is, I smiled and had fun with you weeks after the incident happened. I don’t keep bad feelings inside of me. I seriously hope, you took away something from the incident, as I have done myself.

Responsibility.

17 07 2009

I’m back. But only because there is something I need to get off my chest. Even though it has been like what, 5 days? Its been seething in my head from that event until now. I know you’ll be reading this, but I just do not know any other way to let you know without offending you or your friends.

The first time I entered the team thread, I was amazed and happy to see everyone was so clickable with each other. No arguments, no conflicts, no friction. Eventually, as all cliques do, disagreements would occur, but it’d be solved in a jiffy. No problems there. But what happened on Cosfest Day 2, was just simply unforgiveable to me. To be honest, I thought the 2 of you should have known better.

There we were at BK White Sands rushing through our costumes, wigs and make-up. I think this is the point whereby I need to remind you that you volunteered to do the make up for the team. OUR team. But in the end, you ended up late. Frankly speaking, we were prepared. I’ve always told Oreo that whenever we do an event, we MUST consider the worst case scenario, and then act appropriately. Anything else that happens wouldn’t be THAT bad, and from there we could play it by ear. So we were quite prepared when we found out that your friend left your make-up materials at D’Marquee. OK la. We swallowed our rising tension, and then luckily, Mag, Mayo, Xuri was already on hand to help out with make up. I hope you remember that they are our back up. Not the MAIN make up artiste.

Oreo and I had planned it in such a way, with all the bad scenario’s planted in, that we’d all arrive, ready and good to cosplay, by 1:00pm sharp. Then suddenly, a call came in, saying that you won’t be stepping into Downtown East without your costume and make up on. Okay.. we factored that in. Got on with the plan. Still on track.

The group had to split up after that, because we had to deposit our bags at Mag’s place, whereas the rest went to D’Marquee to get the costumes, wigs and make up done. We figured that you were going to reach soon, and that everything would be fine and dandy. Right after we reached Mag’s place, took a short break, we received news that your best friend and yourself, would be DOING YOUR OWN MAKE UP AND COSTUME AT YOUR FRIEND’S HOUSE BEFORE HEADING DOWN. We were also told that you’d reached by 2:00pm. I would also like to mention that when I called to get things clarified, I was SHOUTED AT OVER THE PHONE, SAYING THAT RECEIVING CALLS FROM US WAS IRRITATING. Yes. IRRITATING. As much as I would have loved to FLICK OFF THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED MY PHONE CALL THERE AND THEN, I was a guest in someone’s house. So I put the phone down.

In my heart, all I could tell myself is; WE HAVE BEEN FUCKED.

True to my word, Oreo and I rushed down to D’Marquee to witness the all-around chaos that was ensuing. Make-up was barely done. Wigs was not styled properly. Basically, the shit had hit the fan. Oreo had a competition to go to, and his make up was more or less, unsatisfactory for competition purposes. But I don’t blame the stand in make-up artistes. They DID THEIR BEST. We got on with it. The Gundam Seed Destiny Team was pretty much fucked too, because of their incomplete make up and costumes. But I don’t blame the girls in their team for that. Because they actually volunteered to help TEAM CODE GEASS with their make-up. Yes. YOUR TEAM. In a way, they put our team first before their own.

So while Oreo went on the compete feeling disappointed, I tried to run things. TRIED. Wigs and make-up. Definitely not Fadzli’s area of specialty. BEST part was, that’s when you came. at 3:00pm. FANTASTIC. Not only did you fuck us up over the make-up. You also FUCKED OUR WORST CASE SCENARIO.

Fast forward to that same night, where your friend actually OFFERED HIS APOLOGY to us for screwing up our make-up arrangements. But do you know something? I don’t blame him AT ALL. Circumstances fucked with him. There was nothing the poor guy could do.

My only question is;

Why did you have to stay in your friend’s place to do YOUR own make-up and leave YOUR TEAM, the ones you PROMISED TO DO THEIR MAKE UP, in the lurch, only to turn up fucking HOURS LATER?

You screwed up arrangements for Team CG, and Team GSD. I am not going into details on how I felt when I was shouted at. I think you would know that if people are drastically calling for you, its because they need your help. But.. we were FUCKED weren’t we?

In your defense, you were sick. Okay. But I don’t see that as being any reason to come down late, or in this case, NOT FUCKING APPEARING to help your team with the make-up.

Oh. And to top it all off. Not even an apology from you. but from your friend yes. In our team thread nonetheless.

I have a very high opinion of you. But after your display on Sunday, there’s a lot of things I have to reconsider. I just hope the photoshoot doesn’t get fucked too.

Sit down and think about it please. Its not everyday I blow up like this, and if I do, its because of something, someone, or some TEAM, that I hold very close to my heart.

Thrills.

14 06 2009

Yesterday was probably the most spastic funniest day I’ve ever had with the team. lols.

We went to Scape opposite Cine for the StreetFest, basically an event for cosplayers all over Singapore. Saw a few familiar faces, plenty of characters, a lot of disgusting things as well. Shall not elaborate. lols. I refused to bring my camera yesterday, because it was just as I expected, a lot of photogs, but less cosplayers. Which means, this hypothetical scenario keeps repeating over and over again.

Me: Hi, can I take a picture of you?
Cosplayer: SURE!
*poses*

And suddenly, your prime spot to adjust your body to get the perfect frame and angle is suddenly assailed by photographers armed with all manners of zoom lenses, flash and other camera paraphernalia which I don’t even know their names. In short, they were like a bunch of pirahnas.

"EH QUICK! That one posing liao!"

"EH QUICK! That one posing liao!"

Then there were some of them who actually went there to just.. gawk. Not to look and enjoy the atmosphere of people who enjoy cosplaying, but to ogle and make crude remarks. I don’t even know what to say about these guys.

Anyway, after the whole thing was over, we went over to that new, funky shopping centre opposite Centrepoint. And yes, I forgot the name and I am lazy to freakin Google it. Anyway, the place has this cool escalator running from the 4th floor to 7th floor on the freakin EXTERIOR of the building. So we went up, acting like a bunch of really noob tourists. LOLS. At the top, we got ready the cake we prepared for Bryan, coz it was his birthday! After plenty of laughter, comments, insults and jokes.. we took the lift down to the 4th floor.. to go up the escalator again. LOLS!

YES spastic I know. But its a cheap thrill! Once back on the 7th floor, we spied a really tall circular makan place at the top of Meritus Mandarin, and we decided to go over, JUST to see what it was.

38 floors and a embarassing moment later, we found out it was a lounge bar call Chatterbox. lols. So we went back down and called it a night. Some of us went to Cine for a drink, and that’s that for Saturday.

This morning, woke up to a fever. Yay. And as I type this entry down, my nose is dripping like a water tap. Hai.

CURSE YOU FICKLE WEATHER!!

Checkpoint.

1 06 2009

Wow. Its now June. damn fast eh? Felt so alive in January, blinked, and now its the midway point of 2009. 6 more months, and then it’ll be 2010! So before that arrives, its always good to do a check on yourself.

For example, I managed to do 90% of what I set myself out to do. The only glaring void; my driving license. THAT, will have to wait a bit more longer. hehe.

This year is gonna be a slack year for me, because I just found out my application to SIM has been accepted, albeit for the January 2010 batch, not the July 2009 one. I won’t complain though, because I was feeling down throughout the whole month because of this, which would explain my lack of entries. I’ve got 6 more months to spare, and I’m looking for another job to supplement my tuition one.. Suggestions anyone?

Celebrated my dear sister Kuro’s birthday last weekend. Here some scandalous pictures from the get-together!

Group Photo 1. The guy on the extreme left looks like WEI ZHONG!

Kuro was seriously surprised to see us over at her place, because each of us were “busy” with our own stuff.. so we literally caught her off guard. lols. So besides the usual fooling around, drinks and plenty of laughter, we followed up with dinner at Al-Azhar. Note to self: Prata Boom is DAMN SWEET. Eat it only once a year. Also have to remember to stop doing Hardgay impersonations. Have to wait till Bryan comes back. lols.

Speaking of the team, I’ve been arrowed to do their dance for them. Yes. Me. This dance-rusty 24 year old whose joints have long crusted over and unable to move as smoothly as he did 10 years ago. BUT. I’m still taking up the challenge, and one trophy from that would be my left ankle giving way again. lols. I MUST show them something by Saturday. I’m not too overwhelmed by the challenge, just.. unprepared for it? I wasn’t a choreographer in the first place, I just bite from videos, and maybe tweak them here and there. But I’m still gonna show them a good dance to perform for the competition. That’s my mid-year super short term resolution!

Whilst on the topic of years, I met up with a group of my primary schoolmates last Friday. Marcus, Steven, Yuhui and Pei Rong. I was like, WOW, because time really flies so fast, because when I think about it, the last time all of us were together was all the wwwaaaaayyyy back in Primary 3, 15 years ago. Marcus left us in Primary 4 for greener pastures in what ironically is now Yew Tee, and I haven’t seen the 2 girls since I left Qifa. The stories we exchanged, the memories that were revived.. absolutely nostalgic! I just wanted to live it all over again you know. We didn’t take any photos that day, but I made a promise to myself, that when the next gathering comes, there’ll be MORE peeps and then I’m gonna bring my camera along. With a tripod stand if I have to. lols.

I just realized that when I went through my iTunes playlist, I haven’t updated any of my Korean songs yet. I went on K-pop music spree, and I’m gonna list down a few songs to note if you into the Hallyu wave!

I’m doing this dance! For fun.

She’s the new Lee Hyori. Nosebleed alert!

Check out the lyrics. Very touching.

If you want any of these songs, look me up in MSN or FB. =)

OK. This is for all you blog shoppers out there *looks at Jocelyn and Angela*. There’s a new blogshop in town, run by our very own Cine Bimbo, Evan!

michicaloves – COLLECTION #A

The blogshop, which caters to the female population of the nation, has a good choice of casual and semi-formal attire perfect to grace any occasion, bringing style and glamour to whichever event of your choosing! There’s a mailing list as well, so you can be kept informed of new designs brought in! Hai. Suddenly, I wish there was a list of male blogshops I could go through. hehe. Check out the blogshop y’all!

Epic

13 05 2009

Okay. Learned my lesson. Never am I gonna click on things I shouldn’t click. Its like opening a Kinder Bueno egg… that’s already sour and rotten.

Since its been 7 days, I guess this entry’s gonna be… epic? long? Well, I’ll just write down what I wanna write down. Please forgive me if it looks like a chapter from Twilight. lols.

4th of May:

Attended a live concert of sorts by local band En-X! I only heard their songs from Wei Zhong, and they’re pretty good. But in my opinion, they sound a lot lot better playing the way they did at Concourse in Esplanade. I brought my D70s along with me, just to take photos, and they sounded so good, my butt was literally glued to my seat, and I only took from that angle. BAD photography. But who cares, the music was good! Photos coming up.

The whole entire band for that day for the Concourse performance. The lead 3 are the main members of the band, whereas the last 2 guys at the back, on the drums and the guitar, and special guests for the performance!

Upon reaching home, I told myself that I should have used a higher shutter speed. lols. Excuse me. photo-talk.

Anyways, you can check out En-X on their Myspace and Facebook profiles. Links as given! Listen to the songs Never Be The Same and Everything Will Be Alright. My favourite songs!

Other than that, I’ve been spending my days at home. Running. Watching anime online. More running. AND, according to my mum, my appetite has increased 3 fold. OOOH.. I’m gonna look like a Boomer soon.

Oh yeah speaking of Boomer, I’ve been going for plenty of L4D as well! Oreo is now addicted to Survival mode. Frankly, it IS fun, but if the objective is to just SURVIVE a never ending onslaught of rotten zombies, what’s the point? I kinda find it.. dull after a while. At least in Campaign mode, you have an objective to finish. Survival mode? I still don’t see it, but its still exhilirating to shoot down wave and wave and wave and wave and wave and wave and wave and wave and wave of zombies, followed by a random number of Tanks, Smokers and Boomers. Comedy central I tell you.

Last weekend, the team went back to that cursed place to catch soft toys again. lols. I spent $14 bucks, without catching anything. WTF. The Marksman game increased to $2. I got so demoralized, I missed all my attempts. DAMN IT. Disappointing.

And before you guys judge me and assume I’m getting my money from my mum, I’m not! I’m starting work tonight, at a tuition centre in Jurong West. Tutoring English, obviously my BEST ever subject. Let me teach the kids anything else, and it’ll probably turn out disastrous. lols.

Oh well. Wish me luck!

PLUSHIES. Except for 1.

PLUSHIES. Except for 1.

That picture on top pretty much sums up my weekend. lols. The whole Team had plushie catching machine fever. and I think its all my fault.

Marina Square has this really cool shop that is full of that money-sucking-scam-filled claw machines that promises you a soft toy if you manage to grip the toy properly. The Team walked past it, and Shiro and Kousagi were enamoured by that big Stitch in the photo. So after the guy was done, I realized I had several one dollar coins in my pocket, and itchy-itchy-itchy put it inside to try my luck. And as always, I missed. But it was this <——> close. So I tried again. Eventually, I managed to do it, with Oreo’s help, and I gave it to Kousagi. By this time, EVERYONE was playing.

So my returns yesterday were;

  1. The big Stitch (Gave Kousagi)
  2. 2 turtles (Gave Kousagi)
  3. 1 Pooh Bear (Gave Oreo)
  4. 1 Pooh Bear in a cow suit (Got passed around, and landed up with Mayi. lols)

Yeah. I didn’t bring any back. The best was Ben though. There was this particular machine called Marksman, which isn’t the typical claw machine. But you had to control a pushing pointer on 2 vectors, up and right, and then manouver it to push down a metal plate bearing a number, through a random shape done in acrylic plastic. Confusing? You gotta see the machine to understand the mechanics of it. lols. Ben spent 3 bucks doing nothing but understanding the game. DAMN funny. OK la, among all of us, he spent the most, so he got the most plushies.

Really reminds me of the days in Cine and PS where we ended up with;

The big one behind was part of Catch 3, Get him free option. We left it at Hougang.

This was on the first day Cineleisure arcade brought in the claw machine. Darren went nuts.

This was on the first day Cineleisure arcade brought in the claw machine. Darren went nuts.

STITCH! Hot favourite.

STITCH! Hot favourite.

This is all the result of watching Darren plot, plan and manouver his way around to catch one.. only for him to miss, cuss, followed by a few dramatic turns and facial expressions and den followed by changing more money to play. He usually gets it at the next attempt though. I had the same reactions yesterday, but spent a bit more money than him. lols. Grass will taste damn good next week.

Picture of the day:

Eriol, with Shiro's Dollfie.. whose name slipped my mind.

Eriol, with Shiro's Dollfie.. whose name slipped my mind.

Check out the doll on Eriol’s arm. I found out yesterday its actually a HOBBY. so I looked it up.

Dollfie (I believe that version of Dollfie is in that page)

Think Barbie, except with much more cooler clothes, funky hairstyles, blue tack and no gay-looking Ken doll. Kousagi and Shiro have one. And I see the way they invest in the dolls.. I got one complain though. I can’t differenciate between guys and girls. That doll up there, its a guy.

CANNOT SEE RIGHT?

And the other thing that freaked me out, was how easily detachable the dolls were. This was demonstrated to me over dinner one night, when Kousagi and Shiro was discussing their dolls, when suddenly Shiro simply detached her doll’s head into two equal pieces. It was like breaking an egg, albeit SMOOTHLY. I had maggi goreng sitting inside my mouth being chewed, and I was quite close to having it being maggi goreng on Mayi’s face instead. Imagine Saw. That freaky. Or maybe I’m just a big ayam.

Marina Square anyone? lols.

Wiser.

20 04 2009

Turned 24 yesterday. What does it mean?

It means that I’m getting closer to dying achieving my dreams.

HAHA.. morbid thoughts aside, I had a quiet celebration yesterday, and a wild one the day before. Got a few pictures I wanna put up!

18th April:

Met the team for an outing to celebrate the April babies birthdays. 3 of us altogether. Unfortunately, due to the sudden influx of new people and the trauma of watching Orichi get pwned, I wasn’t quick enough to capture the birthday peeps with the birthday cake. But still, THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE WONDERFUL CELEBRATION!

After celebrating at Vivo, we went to Just Acia at Dhoby Gaut Exchange to eat. I had the Salmon Teriyaki. DAMN NICE! Highly recommended! We were practically the noisiest and happening group there. Got to know some of the members better. Pure fun. It got better after that, because we went to PS to check out some stuff, and Shiro and Kuro got me presents!

From Shiro: Because she said it looks like me. Every morning now, I look in the mirror because of this. lols.

PS was closing by the time we were done, so we headed to Park Lane to play L4D. lols. AGAIN. Anyways, they now know I’m probably the most strategic Boomer for the day. All I need is a wall. lols.

19th April:
Went out with my family in the morning! Drove to Harbourfront Shopping Centre for breakfast at Pastamania!

Carbonara!

Carbonara!

Had that wonderful plate of turkey bacon carbonara! HEAVENLY. and for those of you who know me well, I “accidentally” put too much cheese again. HEHE.

Stopped by a shoe shop after that, where my parents got me a new pair of shoes!

Nice?

Honestly, I wanna achieve the G-Dragon Big Bang look. I like his style. Not changing my whole wardrobe to to speak, but just make another style available for myself!

After dropping off my sister at work, my parents drove me to PS (again) coz that’s where I was meeting the rest of them for dinner. I had time to spare. So I played L4D (again). Huiting came later, and we walked around PS for a while till Ryan came down. Then we headed to Fish and Co!

FOOD. FISH. YUM.
